Heat Interface Units (HIUs) — sometimes called Thermal Interface Units (TIUs) — provide efficient heating and hot water distribution for district and network heating schemes. Mibec supplies HIUs across the UK, specified to suit your project, from apartments and social housing to holiday parks and RHI-compliant district heating schemes.

HIUs are available in a range of configurations to match your system design and budget, with options for domestic hot water (DHW) and/or primary heating supply and metering. DHW is produced via a high-efficiency plate heat exchanger, delivering mains-pressure hot water up to 80kW (higher outputs available if required).

Heating can be supplied via a plate heat exchanger (indirect) or directly from the primary circuit (direct), giving flexibility across different scheme types. Where billing or scheme compliance is required, we can specify metering to suit, including MID 2004 compliant meters.

Units can operate as standalone systems or integrate with a Building Management System (BMS) for accurate monitoring, reporting and billing.
