Vacuum Degassers

vacuum degassers

Mibec are pleased to introduce new Sevitec vacuum degassers from Reflex into the heating components range. Ideal for commercial projects such as offices or in district heating schemes, vacuum degassers are designed for use in plant rooms in large sealed systems and usually located on the return pipework of low temperature hot water heating (LTHW) and chilled water (CHW) systems. The products are specially designed to remove micro-bubbles, air bubbles and free air from the system water including dissolved gases.

Gases in the system water can significantly reduce the performance and service life of heating systems and increase the need for servicing. Our solutions can help to prevent this and achieve optimum operating conditions, benefiting the whole-life costs of a project.

Mibec offer a full free of charge specification service covering the whole of the UK, designed to support consultants, architects, specifiers or contractors, helping you to select the right heating solution to meet your needs. Please feel free to email or call our support department on 0330 053 8880 where one of our trained advisers will be happy to help you.

Why use a vaccum degasser?

  • Helps combat corrosion of system components caused by reactive gases in the system water (e.g. oxygen) and erosion caused by inert gases.
  • Prolong the life of the heating system.
  • Minimises the likelihood of a breakdown therefore preventing disruption for the building occupants and reducing maintenance costs.

How do they work?

  • Removes gases entering the system particularly during the filling and draining process.
  • A partial flow of water in the system is removed, degassed in the Servitec under vacuum and fed back into the system virtually gas-free.
  • Automatically controlled ball valves guarantee a constant flow regardless of the pressure ratios in the system.
  • High degrees of separation are achieved using dynamic vacuum deaerators.
  • The process is electronically monitored and optimised by a Reflex Control unit.
